Container Types

Horda Logistics provides a wide range of cargo transportation services, including Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments. FCL services ensure secure and timely delivery, while LCL is a cost-effective solution for smaller shipments.

Dry Cargo Container (DC)

Standard containers, also known as "dry containers," are the most common type, accounting for about 90% of all cargo containers. These containers come in two main sizes—20 feet (6 meters long, fitting up to 11 Euro pallets) and 40 feet (12 meters long, fitting up to 25 Euro pallets). They are suitable for a wide variety of cargo.

High Cube container (HC)

High Cube (HC) containers are a variant of standard dry cargo containers, offering extra height for taller cargo. These containers are about 30 cm taller than standard ones. High Cube containers come in both 40-foot and 45-foot lengths, making them ideal for oversized and bulky cargo that requires additional vertical space.

Open Top Container (OTC)

Open Top containers have a removable roof or cover, providing easy access to cargo from the top. These containers are perfect for oversized, heavy, or long items, as well as cargo that needs to be loaded from above, such as timber or large machinery. This type of container allows for the transportation of goods that aren't suitable for standard closed containers.

Flat Rack container (FR)

Flat Rack containers are specifically designed for cargo that can't fit into standard containers due to size or shape. These containers feature securing points and a flat platform surface, making them suitable for transporting heavy and oversized items like industrial equipment. Flat Rack containers often have removable or foldable side walls and sometimes detachable ends, allowing for side or top loading.

Refrigerated container (RF)

Refrigerated containers (RF) are specialized containers equipped with temperature control systems to maintain specific temperatures during transport. These containers are ideal for perishable goods, such as food, medicine, and flowers, which require precise temperature maintenance. Refrigerated containers can operate within a wide temperature range.

Pallet Wide Container (PW)

Pallet Wide containers are designed to optimize cargo transport using pallets. These containers are slightly wider than standard containers, allowing for easier and more efficient use of pallets, which reduces loading/unloading time and costs. Pallet Wide containers are ideal for transporting goods where organized and structured cargo placement is important.

A Bill of Lading (B/L) is a crucial document in global trade and transportation. It functions as evidence of goods received, proof of ownership, and a transportation contract, establishing the conditions of shipment and goods receipt.

Benefits:

Sea Freight Shipping is one of the most popular logistics solutions in global trade. It offers an efficient and cost-effective way to transport large volumes of cargo on international routes.

High capacity: Ships can carry a large amount of goods at once, making them suitable for transporting large cargo. This includes containerized cargo, bulk goods, liquids, and other types of freight.

Cost-effective: Compared to other types of transport like air freight, sea freight is significantly cheaper, especially for large and heavy shipments. This cost efficiency makes sea transport a popular choice in international trade.

Global reach: Sea transport has access to ports worldwide, providing connections to nearly any destination. This global reach offers flexibility in international supply chains.

Environmentally friendly: Sea freight generates fewer emissions per ton-kilometer compared to air or road transport, making it a more eco-friendly option.

Versatility in cargo types: Sea freight can handle a wide variety of cargo types.

disadvantages:

Delivery time: Sea freight is generally slower than air freight, with delivery times ranging from a few weeks to several months depending on distance and route. This mode of transport is not ideal for urgent shipments.

Weather impact: Sea freight can be affected by bad weather, such as storms and rough seas, leading to delays or even cargo damage.

Limited access to some regions: While sea transport provides global port access, additional transport modes, like rail or road, may be needed to deliver cargo to inland regions. Horda Logistics offers the option to combine different transport modes to reach these destinations.

Approximately 90% of global trade relies on sea freight transportation, making it a crucial part of the worldwide economy.

size and weight limit
